Well an uneventful, but somewhat restless night at the Love's Rest Stop and it was time to hit the road again. First destination of the day was 3.5hrs away in Wisconsin at Pier Country Park. This was one of my "must see" destinations and it didn't disappoint.

It is not a very big area and can easily be explored within an hour, though in the summer season it's a nice area to picnic and there's plenty of benches provided, but my main reason to visit was the natural tunnel, this is the largest natural bridge in Wisconsin measuring 20ft wide by 10ft high and where, in 1832 General Atkinson's troops camped out during The Black Hawk War. It was quite fun to walk admiring this natural formation.
You can also walk along the very top where a pretty woodland pathway stretches from one end to the other. The expanse of rock formation of the area is very interesting too.

From here we travelled a short distance to Lake Redstone Country Park where I'd seen there was a waterfall, so of course we had to go see that! The lake at the park is very nice and in season I'm sure gets very busy with boats, picnics and beach goers.
The walk to the waterfall takes no time at all, and is impressive to see though much of it is fenced off for safety reasons. Unfortunately on our visit there was an awful smell which we couldn't work out where it was coming from - potentially from the stagnant water that surrounds the area at the base of the waterfall? But it was still worth the stop and photos duly taken.
Then it was onto our next stop a half hour away to an eatery that we just HAVE to go to! Now we're not usually ones to go out to eat very often but we do occasionally make exceptions and this is one of those moments.... I just hope I'm not going to be disappointed!! But we also have cause for celebrating, as this afternoon I got notified that my application to stay in the US has been accepted - I have been granted permanent residency (also known as a Green Card) here!!! Oh my, that is most definately worth celebrating and somewhere very American!!

So we arrived at the restaurant, Buffalo Phil's Pizza & Grille at Wiscon Dells, WI, and all I can say is, it is MASSIVE!! Upon entry it's quickly apparent that it gets VERY busy here so it is recommended to pre-book if you can. For the best seats ask for a train delivery table. Throughout the restuarant there are an abundance of Lego buildings of different themes to keep you and the whole family entertained - though its a shame they don't have any moving parts on the lego sets as this would add an extra dimension to the whole ambiance of the place.
Food & drink orders are taken by the waiter/waitress and then it is delivered to your table by train!! So at times you have food whizzing by you on its way to other tables. When no-ones ordering they send the train round with bubble machines or other fun things on it to keep you all entertained.
Occasionally another train moves around the restuarant on a train line near the ceiling. In our area alone we had two different train lines serving different table sections, it really is all rather fun, a unique dining experience and such a great place to mark this momentous day.
Attached to the restuarant is a big play area and slot machines to keep children entertained, even down to indoor go-karting and fair ground rides!! As I say, this place is massive and definately caters for the tourists to the area!!
Overindulged - the food was really very good - we then headed to our campsite for the night. Fred had chosen a relatively new campsite that had only opened last autumn so we were still one of their first visitors for the season. Steel Oak Campground has been nicely done with very nice restrooms, facilities and a well stocked country store. The owner Brad was incredibly welcoming and friendly, telling us they are looking forward to a busy season and we wish them the best of luck.
Road Trip Day 27 - we've driven approximately 240 Miles today!
